Job Description

Department/ Hospital: Catering Department, United Christian Hospital
Pay: HK$32,140 to HK$37,590 (HGPS Point 12 to 15) per month including Monthly Allowance

Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities:
1. To assist Hospital Chef I in providing various patient food services including provisions of food & beverage, menu planning, goods ordering & receiving, food preparation & production, central plating, central washing, dispatching and other related patient catering services.
2. To ensure all staff to work according to the pre-determined standards of hygiene and safety as well as the established principles and policies.
3. To supervise cooks and frontline staff in each designated kitchen areas (e.g. food preparation, cooking, serving, cleaning, storage, rest rooms) to provide catering services according to patient needs.
4. To be responsible for patient catering and milk kitchen operations.
5. To perform designated checklist for quality assurance and quality control.
6. To organize & participate on-the-job training and development programs for catering staff.
7. To be responsible for stock control, ordering goods and goods receipt.
8. To arrange for repair and maintenance of furniture, utensils, equipment and facilities.
9. To liaise with wards and other departments in any catering matters.
10. To prepare staff duty and leave rosters.
11. To perform human resources matters in the department including SDR, orientation to new staff. 
12. To perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Entry Requirements:
1. Certificate in Hotel, Catering and Institutional Operations or equivalent; or Chef Apprenticeship; AND
2. With 2 years' experience in bulk cooking.

Preferred Attributes:
1. Experience & well knowledge in HA systems including DCMS, ERP, CMMS, EAM, SRS.
2. Knowledge in patient catering (i.e., various textures of patient diet, therapeutic diet requirement). Minimum 2 years work experience in patient kitchen at supervisory level.
3. Work experience in milk kitchen is preferred.
4. Knowledge in applications of computer software including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, etc.
5. Knowledge and working experience in ISO 22000, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001.
6. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
