Join Insurance Technology & Services (ITS) team as a Technical Lead guiding the Claims Platform through major transformation programs. You’ll contribute to solution design as well as leading, influencing and enabling your technical squad. In this role, you’ll shape modern engineering practices, champion Agile delivery, and drive high‑quality technical outcomes across a complex, integrated application ecosystem. You’ll partner closely with architects, product owners and stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable solutions while uplifting engineering capability. This is an opportunity to lead critical, high‑visibility work in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment.
This is a permanent full-time role based in Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney), Naarm (Melbourne) or Meanjin (Brisbane).
What You'll Do
- Lead technical solutioning for the Claims Platform and guide the team in delivering scalable, secure, high‑quality solutions
- Champion Agile practices, engineering standards and continuous improvement across the team
- Oversee integrations with multiple upstream and downstream systems, including APIs and batch processes
- Collaborate with architects, product owners and stakeholders to align on solution design and technical direction
- Support major transformation initiatives across the portfolio
- Provide technical leadership within the community of practice to uplift engineering maturity
- Identify and advocate for fit‑for‑purpose industry tools, offering technical guidance and recommendations to the business
What You'll Bring
- Thought leadership that supports Technology’s strategic priorities, operating model and planning.
- Ability to drive growth and enable enterprise programs, managing products and services across IAG.
- Experience with Guidewire or similar claims platform technologies.
- Strong technical expertise in application development, solution design and integration patterns.
- Proven capability in API and batch integration across complex enterprise environments.
- Strong Agile delivery skills using Confluence, Jira and modern engineering tooling.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with a focus on technical quality, documentation and reusable patterns.
